Key points to keep in mind when considering the use of social media to market your business or organization:
  • Does my "ideal person" use social media?
  • What kinds of social media does my "ideal person" use?
  • What kinds of posts do I make that will really engage people to take action?
  • Is there an action step in place?
  • What kind of action does the action step suggest -- subscribing to an e-letter, making an appointment, signing up for a training, etc.?
Suggestions for best display and use
  • Use high-quality photos and graphics.
  • Use your picture, as appropriate.
  • Link to your website or other appropriate sites (link to purchase your product, book, etc.)
  • Use best hashtags (#) to find your posts.
Suggestions for best engagement and new followers
  • Create and post useful and engaging content.
  • Interact by liking, commenting and sharing.
  • Give as well as get (offer suggestions, ideas, resources, etc., in your own posts and respond to others' questions and posts with useful information.)
Posting is not marketing!
