Sand tray miniatures "mystery boxes" for sale!

​Now available and for sale – "mystery boxes" packed with sand tray miniatures, and other small objects from the 30-year collection of Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP, as well as found treasures from vintage shops, items created or upcycled by Karen and other interesting objects.

The price is $75 for each box, which includes shipping.
  • All items sold as is.
  • Packaged with care, using recycled materials whenever possible.
  • Sent by Priority Mail, which means you will receive your box two to three days after it is mailed.
  • Using Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate boxes (sizes are 11 x 8.5 x 5.5 inches or 14 x 12 x 3.5 inches) or a slightly larger generic box.
  • Mailing throughout the United States.

A few facts about sand tray therapy

​Sand tray is the practice and art of placing small figures and other small objects in a tray filled with sand to tell a story, express  feelings or explore solutions to a problematic situation.

Sand tray has a long and wonderful history as a therapeutic method of healing and growth and is recently generating new interest as an important experiential modality not only for children but also for adolescents and adults.

Sand tray stems from the earlier "Sandplay" process as variously developed by a number of imaginative innovators.

​Dr. Margaret Lowenfeld, a British child psychiatrist who developed the World Technique when working with children in the late 1920s because of her frustrations with the limits of traditional talk therapy in the psychoanalytic tradition.
