By Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP As you know, I love offering resources to my trainees and others interested in learning and refining skills of action methods. And this one is a good one! My dear friend and psychodrama colleague Linda Ciotola, M.Ed., TEP, has created an online video series about the use of action methods to treat survivors of trauma and promoting post-traumatic growth with her colleague Nancy Alexander, MSW, LCSW-C, a retired psychotherapist and social worker in Maryland. The series is titled "Introduction to Psychodrama for Trauma Survivors" and includes:
The collaboration of a psychotherapist and psychodramatist, along with a trained auxiliary team of Connie Newton and Will Halm, creates a powerful, effective and mutually reinforcing framework for working with trauma survivors. Every member of the team is fully educated in the Therapeutic Spiral Model, a psychodramatic model that is modified to create additional safety and containment, and have extensive training in its methods and roles. Links for learning Linda and I co-authored on the book Healing Eating Disorders with Psychodrama and Other Action Methods: Beyond the Silence and the Fury, and I’m thrilled to endorse this video series as an official Ambassador. A tiered structure of payment based on your status as a trainer, trainee or student makes this training accessible to beginners and experienced professionals alike. Because the program is online, it is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and you may learn at your own pace in a fully integrated learning environment accessible anywhere you have an internet connection. And you can watch it again and again. Again, here is the link.
